Great Scrapping Week

It has been a fantastic week of scrapping for me. First the class I did with Tara on Monday which was so much fun and we both love our layouts ( as seen in my last post ) We enjoyed this so much we have decided to do Nic's class together. We went to visit Kim on Wednesday we were talking about the class and showing her what we had done and she decided to do Nic's class with us. Yay it's going to be so much fun, there's nothing better than scrapping with friends.

I also did a class with the fabulous Sally Donovan yesterday on-line at Shop and Crop. This was really my type of layout, lots of photos, bit of inking and distressing and a little sewing. Fantastic colors using some of the Basic Grey Hang ten range. A little bit of chatting but a very fast pace trying to get it all done. It was absolutely fantastic Sal well done and thank you. Here's my finished layout.

I love doing classes they add so much variety to my albums. Other designer use papers and other product that I might not otherwise buy or use. I really enjoy creating my own layouts but there is so many different ways we all do things or apply a certain embellishment or twist to our pages and by doing classes it gives a little view into how others do things. Its such a great side of scrapbooking which I enjoy so much.

I also did a layout of my own this week for Scrapbook Station. This month the theme for the DT was 'Mothers' , just in time for Mothers Day.... Awesome. It's fantastic doing this type of layout for a change cause so much of my scrapping time is spent scrapping my kids. I have a small sneak peek below but if you want to see the layout go over and have a look and also you will see what the rest of this fabulously talented DT has done. I'm not sure when it will go up..... But keep on checking it will be up soon.

The forum is up and running at SS so come on over an have a chat. Its just getting started but it's sure to build to bigger and better so come on over and join us .

This weeks scrapping could have been even better as we had a crop planned today and Kim was feeling up to it which is just fantastic, but Craige had to work and I missed it. Hugely disappointing I would so have loved to go. I hope there will be another soon that I can go to, I have missed our cropping nights together, so much fun and a nice social outing for this mostly house bound mum.

Well enough from me I still have some scrapping to do so I might get on with it.

I'm excited!!!!!!

Said in my best 'Big Kev' voice. lol. Last night I had a fantastic layout running around in my head and I just had to get out of bed and get it down in my journal.!!!! I had the whole thing planned, Title, photo, journaling and design. I haven't done that in ages WooHoo what a feeling. Can't wait to get started on it now.

Another thing I'm excited about is the Urban Lily design Team Call. This looks awesome go and have a look if your interested, you have got to be in it to win it. I'm going to give it a go cause I just love Urban Lily, they have the most beautiful papers and products and of course it's all Australian gotta love that!!!!!!

Tara came around today and we did a Shop and Crop on-line class together. It was a beautiful layout designed and taught by Maree Clout. It was great doing it together, although we did chat a little to much (or was that me chatting to much lol). Tara got hers all finished which was fantastic and I have finished mine off tonight. It really was so much more fun doing it with her than on my own. I hope we can do one together again soon. Nic Howard is doing a class there next month and it looks awesome!!!!! Might have to do that one too.

Look what she bought with her, boy this was a surprise!!!!! I was wrapped to see this, I know I know, it is nothing big but I thought it was awesome. SM have used one of my layouts on their little flyers to promote getting a subscription to the mag. Well we thought it was cool .lol.

Well today is Craige and my 12th wedding anniversary, MG doesn't time fly!!!!! It doesn't seem like that long ago. Life sure has changed since then.

Not long till ISC now, not much chatting going on about it so who out there is going????? I hope to see lots of you there, let me know if you will be and hopefully we can get together. Tara and I are going again and are looking forward to it.

I'm off to read some blogs now so catch ya later.

Friends and the new SM

Had a nice visit with Kim today, she is home and slowly getting things back to normal. She is remarkably well and will continue to improve and be back to herself real soon. Her and her family have been through so much in the past few months, it's very sad and I'm sure hoping this will be the end of it. I have missed my friend so much, her enthusiasm for scrapbooking and life in general, since she has been unwell. Kim is always the centre of attention and I mean this in the nicest possible way, people are just drawn to her as she is so out going and so much fun to be around. Even through her ordeal she has still been a great person to be with, in a subdued and restricted sort of way. I totally enjoy her company and love to share things with her and I hope we can begin scrapbooking together again very soon.

I got my copy of Scrapbooking Memories this morning, it seams to have so much in it this month. I have a few things in it as well first I have frames in the Mothers day special, not great photos of them but any way they are there and I also have 2 layouts. They are both so different to each other, but I love them both. I love busy pages, I enjoy creating them and sometimes they can take a week to do but I enjoy every moment of it. In fact sometimes I have trouble stopping myself from adding even more to a layout. lol. But then other times I just want to leave a layout simple, not very often. lol but occasionally. I struggle with leaving layouts simple, I want to add more. lol. But it is nice to have one done in say 1 hour as with the Girly Girl Cargos. I wanted to record the story of the shorts but didn't want it to take me too long. I will share them here now as I still haven't done anything lately, but do have many plans for some soon. I have a really special one underway for Scrapbook Station so you will all have to watch the site for when it goes up. Anyway thats enough for today...
Bye Trish

Seeing improvement

Well this week has been a small improvement on the last couple, Kim has sent me a message saying she is a little better and hoping to be home in a couple of days. This is great news, although these latest problems have set her movement's back to where it was last November when she first had her stroke. She has a long way to go again. I'm looking forward to her coming home and I hope that after this last set back she can keep her spirits up.

I did an on-line class last night at Shop and Crop with Allison. I actually finished the layout from it this morning which felt great. Isn't it the most bright and beautiful layout, awesome colors. She had a provision for journaling tags under the photo but I still had the ticket stubs from our trip on the paddle wheeler so I have put these underneath instead. Typical scrapbooker keeping every little memento we get. lol.
I have done 2 other classes at Shop and Crop, one with Evana and one with Jamie and both classes were beautiful but I haven't finished either of them. I couldn't even keep my concentration on class layouts. Now that is sad!!! Having the instructions and still not being able to finish them. I have been in a very weird place creatively, but hopefully all is returning to normal. I'm thinking layouts again and planning them in my head which is a really good feeling. By the way I love these Heidi Swapp flowers!!!!

It's now Easter and the kids have a couple of days off so we will have lots of rest and relaxation and lots of chockies. It is raining very heavily and is so dark inside today, good DVD day. I'm enjoying some internet time too, Yay.

Well that's it for now but hopefully I will have a lovely layout to share next time.

Blahh.........

That's how I feel. The past week has been very ordinary, I have not been able to get a layout done for the life of me!!!!! I'm so disappointed in myself as I had to do a layout that I committed myself too do but just can't do it. Scrapping is not supposed to be like this, I have never had such trouble doing one and I feel so badly. I feel guilty and embarrassed and I hate letting people down. My mind is in so many other places and I can't get it too sit still long enough to concentrate.

My good friend Kim ended up back in hospital after we went to lunch for my birthday. She wasn't released until Friday, only to have to go back this past Thursday for more surgery. This was of great concern because after her brain surgery 4 month ago she had to wait 6 months until she had more surgery. But this operation couldn't wait, it had to be done straight away. Anyway the surgery went well, but she didn't recover well at all and has now been sent back to Melbourne hospital. I'm so worried for her and her family, after her stroke and tumor she has struggled back to almost well but this is going to set her back again. Her biggest struggle is the fatigue and with 3 kids and DH and a household to run we all know rest time isn't always easy to find. I'm praying and hoping she will improve and will be well again soon.

Week of Birthdays

That's what this week has felt like any way. It was Blake's birthday, he is 15 this year, on Tuesday he had the day off and then we had our normal family dinner that evening. Wednesday was my birthday, I was 35!!!! Holy cow!!!! On the downward slide to 40 now lol. I went out to lunch with Kim, Marie and Taara, was really lovely to catch up. We sat for hours chatting. Then that night the family went out for dinner with the in-laws. Thursday after school I took Blake shopping to spend his birthday money, we were shopping for 41/2 hours. We also got all the kids a bean bag each, which was fun they really like them. All of Friday was spent at the laundry mat as my washing machine has broken and it is taking a while to get the parts in, not fun!!!!! Saturday spent all day cleaning the house from top to bottom as Blake had a large group of friends coming over for Pizza and DVD's. Was a very late night but they all had a great time, three of them are still here sleeping ATM.
Now another week is beginning and all I can do is hope it's not quite as busy as the last one. I do have scrapping that needed to be done but couldn't get to it for the life of me!!!!! I tried and the one I'm doing is still on the table bit's done and I have attempted to get back to it all week but just couldn't get it to come together. I will straighten up after the kids leave today and tomorrow is scrapping day for me. As soon as all the kids have left for school I will be in the scrapping room working away at it until it is finished. That's the plan anyway.
The weather has really cooled down here this week, yesterday we were even in pants and jumpers and the night was very cool indeed. Great for sleeping though. And thank goodness Day light Savings Time has ended!!!!!! I'm sick of getting up when it is still dark.
That's it for me this week hopefully I will have something interesting to share tomorrow or the next day.
Bye
